Abraham Ovadia’s life embodies the enduring American Dream. Born to a Cuban immigrant mother who arrived in the US as a teenager without knowing English, Abe’s childhood was marked by financial struggles but rich in determination. His mother worked multiple jobs, often for minimum wage, to support the family. Despite relying on food stamps at times, she always emphasized the value of education, earning her own college degree in her mid-40s.
Abe’s journey in the workforce began at 15, earning $6.50 an hour at Jamba Juice. This humble start, far from discouraging him, fueled his ambition and appreciation for hard work. Through perseverance and a commitment to education, he worked his way up to become a successful attorney.
Today, Abe doesn’t view his story as one of exceptional hardship, acknowledging that many have faced greater obstacles. Instead, he sees his journey as a relatable example of what’s possible through dedication and continuous learning.
Abe’s hope is that others will find inspiration in his story – not as a tale of extraordinary achievement, but as proof that the American Dream is still attainable. His life stands as evidence that success is possible not through privilege or connections, but through unwavering effort and the pursuit of knowledge, regardless of one’s starting point.
Abraham Ovadia believes in giving back to the community in various forms of charitable work. Since 2012, he has conducted annual holiday toy drives, purchasing hundreds of toys for children in need. This initiative was inspired by his childhood experience when the Boca Raton Police Department delivered Christmas presents and brought Santa to his apartment. At his toy giveaway events, children receive toys, take photos with Santa, and enjoy food donated by the local Publix Bakery.
In 2013, Abraham Ovadia made a $400,000 donation to his alma mater- Florida International University College of Law. He wanted to give back to the program that gave him an opportunity to become a lawyer. The FIU College of Law named the Career Planning and Placement Office in his name. Since 2015, Abraham Ovadia has been involved in purchasing backpacks and filling them with school supplies. The backpacks are donated to schools in poorer neighborhoods and dropped off.

As a result, he published a Spanish version of his guide titled “Después de un Accidente” (After an Accident). Equipo Legal
Ovadia takes great pride in communicating with people living in the USA who only speak Spanish and educating them about their rights. Because they don’t speak English they are vulnerable to certain individuals who prey on them because they don’t know where to seek help and can’t communicate. Also, Spanish-speaking only people are usually from the Caribbean or South America where the culture and legal system are often very different from the US- especially in socialist countries like Cuba, Venezuela, and Bolivia. Mr. Ovadia recognizes the vulnerability of this hardworking group and continues to educate them through educational videos and localized content.
